AFFILIATES
We Make a Difference is a show of inspiration. We
share with you the amazing people right next door. You will hear from ordinary
people who give their gifts of time and energy through various volunteer
opportunities throughout the community. We want you to learn how even the
simplest things such as donating your gently used clothing can change the lives
of others. We want you to see that these incredible people are just like you and
are able to find the time in their busy lives to share themselves. If you want
to start to change the world and make a difference, you must be the change you
wish to see in the world.

Compassionate Hands and Hearts Breast Cancer Outreach
Compassionate Hands & Hearts Breast Cancer Outreach
was founded by Vanessa Echols of Orlando, FL. After being diagnosed with stage
II breast cancer in 2004, Vanessa says she “knew God had a purpose in allowing
this journey into my life.” The purpose of her organization is to provide
support to survivors and their families physically, mentally and emotionally.
Comprised of a group of volunteers, Compassionate Hands have opened their hearts
and is ready to share their time with those in need. Whether it’s picking up
medication from the pharmacy, help with errands, or simply someone to talk to,
Compassionate Hands will be there for you.

SHEPHERD'S PROMISE
Shepherd’s Promise, (www.shepherdspromise.org) is a non-denominational organization
providing an opportunity for women in domestic and/or economic
crises to become self-sufficient. They have been in existence
for 10 years with a success rate of 55%, the national success
rate is estimated at 20-30%. Newly hired Executive Director,
Charlene Sears-Tolbert, is working diligently to raise her success
rate. The organization provides housing and classes on various
life skills to each client. Currently at Shepherd’s Promise
there are 14 families. Each family is required to complete a
six month program. Once the program has been completed and the
clients have successfully graduated and sent back into the world
on their own, they are tracked for one year.
Once the program has been successfully completed and
graduation has taken place, the clients are on their own but
will be tracked for a year.
Because CMD is
all about women we wanted to adopt an organization that catered
to women as well. SP is that organization. We believe in our
mission which is to encourage, empower and motivate other
fabulous women. Along their journey of life the women of SP lost
themselves and we hope that with our affiliation and constant
involvement they will find themselves once again. All they need
is support and encouragement. Over the holdiays CMD and it's
members donated two wonderful baskets comprised of items that
all women enjoy and appreciate. The women were thrilled.
